Over the past couple of weeks I have definitely experienced the highs and lows that are part and parcel of sport. I came back to the UK in good form, fresh from my win in Washington; I was aiming for a really good result at nationals. A couple of days before Madre and I journeyed uuup north to recce the 'rolling' course before the race. We rented a cute little converted cow shed for the race. This cottage put a  new meaning to the term 'off the beaten track.'

The morning of the race I woke up not feeling great, as soon as the race started I just felt empty. I had nothing in the tank and just felt so weak. I was so disappointed. Enough said about that one!

I am now in Chicago killing 5 hours before my connecting flight to Milwaukee for Tour of America's Dairylands! I start racing tomorrow.... one way to get over the jet lag!

Back at home!

Drying wet clothes in Yorkshire by cooking them!!
